KNOT

KNOT was inspired by the Korean traditional packaging technique, Yeokgeori, ever used in Korea. The rope used for this lighting is mainly used to dry food ingredients and is also used to carry them, display on the market, sell to consumers, and store them. I have considered the portable lighting to be similar to this and designed the lighting using the rope.
KNOT can be hung on the wall, handy and portable for carrying out and knotted never to loose with a simple structure. An inter-knotting technique without screw or any parts were used for convenient assembly. Inspired by this traditional form, modern materials, including acrylic and rope, were used to reinterpret and design lighting.
